Eddy Current Level I training is a basic course in eddy current theory, test instrumentation, coils and basic impedance plane principles. Students are trained to perform conductivity, lift-off, thickness, and flaw detection.
The course meets all SNT-TC-1A (American Society for Non-Destructive Testing) and NAS 410 (National Aerospace Standards) requirements.
Materials: All classroom materials, including the ASNT student package with a study guide and a handbook, are provided.
Location: Class will be held at the ATS offices.
Hours: 40 hours of classroom training plus an examination.
Time: Class hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Eddy Current Level II training reviews the basic principles, test setup and display interpretation based on impedance plane analysis as well as covering applications, surface probes, inner diameter probes, and encircling coils. Eddy Current Level I training is a prerequisite for this course.
The course meets all SNT-TC-1A (American Society for Non-Destructive Testing) and NAS 410 (National Aerospace Standards) requirements.

This course was developed for currently certified Level 2 personnel transitioning from Film to Non-Film to meet the minimum formal training requirements per NAS410. With Level 3 approval this class may also be used to transition currently certified RT/Film Level 2 personnel to “CR” techniques per the requirements of SNT-TC-1A. Course content includes in-depth training on topics such as understanding the difference between various digital radiography techniques (i.e., CR, DR, CT), Computed Radiography system components, Image Acquisition, Digital Imaging, Processing Digital Images, Manipulation of Digital Images, Software functionality and familiarization, Standard Practices for CR, CR System Testing and Performance and Computed Radiography requirements for various industry codes and standards. The course is in full compliance with the required training hours for SNT-TC-1A, and NAS410.

Liquid Penetrant, Combined Level I & II training covers basic theory and encompasses both visible and fluorescent inspection methods. Students will have the ability to gain practical experience with Methods A, B, C, and D testing.

Magnetic Particle, Combined Level I & II training covers basic theory and encompasses both dry powder and wet fluorescent inspections. Proper use of hand yokes, permanent magnets, and stationary units is included.

The Radiographic Inspection – Film – Level I course is designed for technicians or engineers to be trained in the application of radiographic techniques. The course covers both X-ray and Gamma Radiography with an overview of theory and practical applications using film. Along with working through their own supervised practical exercises, students will receive full instruction on darkroom procedures and radiographic interpretation. The Level I course is intended to introduce and provide participants with the theory and applications of radiographic inspection.
The course satisfies the training hours needed for Level I certification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and NAS-410.

Level II Radiographic Inspection – Film covers both X and Gamma Radiography and will include a more in-depth overview of theory and practical applications. This training is an advanced course in radiographic techniques, radiation safety requirements, and film interpretation principles. Technique development and operation in accordance with codes and standards is stressed. The Level II program builds upon the Level I syllabus and emphasizes a greater depth of study, exposure chart production and the development of procedures and techniques.
The course satisfies the training hours needed for Level II certification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and NAS-410.

This will meet the minimum formal training requirements of SNT-TC-1A and NAS410. This class will consist of formal training using lecture, visual aids, open discussion, quizzes, and hands on experience.

Our Radiation Safety course is intended to provide the participant with an understanding of basic radiation theory, health and safety protection issues associated with radiation exposure, the applicable provisions of Federal and State regulations, as well as the safe and correct use of industrial radiographic exposure devices (X-ray and gamma). This radiation safety and protection program is ideal preparation for all radiography trainees, assistants, health and safety personnel, quality control inspectors, or any personnel involved in projects where radiographic inspection is being conducted.
This course is also ideal for preparing individuals for the IRRSP and/or other State Radiation Safety examinations.

Visual, Combined Level I & II training covers basic theory, instruction in interpreting specification requirements, and hands-on training in the use of weld measurement tools. Identification of surface defects in castings, forgings, finished machine details, and welding applications will be covered.
